What is the difference between these engines?
Also is there so much of a difference between a 92 and 94-up that an engine from a 94-96 would not work in a 92 if i had engine trans. and ecu?
I can offer some info.
B18A was in the 90-93 RS/LS/GS Integras. The 92-93 B18's had a slightly larger Intake valve lift than the 90-91, which is why they are rated at 140 HP instead of 130.
B18B was in the 94-2000 RS/LS/GS Integras. They were also rated at 140 HP, so I assume use the same cam as the 92-93 B18A. I am sure there are small changes like where a sensor might be located. Also, the 92-93 B18A and early B18B should be OBD1 while the later B18B are likely OBD2. This may involve added sensors and electrical plugs over the early B18A. A more major difference is that the B18B got a different trans, so the mounts would be different as well. If you have the trans as well, I assume that would work fine. The only thing I don't know about is the front engine mount.

YUP!
the 90-91 B18As are OBD-0 and the 92-93s are OBD1.
94-95 B18B = OBD1, 96-01 = OBD2
you can swap a 94-95 B18B into a 92-93 car pretty easily. just re-use the 90-93 engine mounts, and swap over the 92-93 engine harness, and its plug and play. swapping into a 90-91 car is probably just as easy, if you swap over the appropriate engine harness for the car.
96-01 B18Bs are OBD2 and contain a few additional sensors than their OBD1 counterparts. it still should swap over to an older car, but you might need to change a few parts that are OBD0 or OBD1 specific.

basically its alot harder to use a later meaning older engine in a newer car because the newer the car the more sensors it will have therefore the computer will be checking those plugs to make sure its reading correctly. how ever, using a newer engine in an older car is more simple, you just have to use every thing off of the old block... meaning you can only swap out blocks and head... bare blocks and heads only... no intake mani's no alternators, exhaust mani's things like that... depending on wether the car needs a two o2 system or just a single.. the newer, the more complecated things get
