Default Does anyone recommend Bosch Starters?

I am in need to replace my starter today and locally the only options I have to work with are Autolite (which I really don't care for due to bad past experiences), Beck Arnley, Bosch and dealer OEM.

The dealers here locally want $350 - $400 which is a little out of my price range right now. My other two options are Beck Arnley and Bosch. I like Beck Arnley which is around $200 but the Bosch is around $150. I stay away from there tune up parts but does anyone have any experience with their starters?

Thanks!

I have not had good luck with Bosch parts. The length of warranty offered may make a difference. How about an OEM from a salvage yard?

It would be a miracle to find a Honda Accord within my year range in tact with any motor accessories at the wrecking yards. Most of what I have found are cars without the engine or tranny since parting them out here is quite common.

Plus I'm trying to find something tonight and by the time I get out of work, the yards are closed. Thanks though!

bosch is ok, but bascially any reman'd part is only as good as the person rebuilding it. We have had lots of rebuilt parts fail because, sometimes when you get the part, it may have already been rebuilt 3 or 4 times, and they just dont fit right, or perform the way that should. Best bet is to go new, or any kind of reman.

Go past the local 'autoelectric' repair shop and get a new set of contacts for the starter. Easy to replace, gets rid of the "clicks but won't crank" problem.

Sure I always recommend Bosch...FOR VOLKSWAGONS
