What catback exahust should I run on my 94 EJ DX Coupe?
Hey guys, need your opinions and experience. I have a 94 DX Civic Coupe that I am building for Road Racing/Time Attack all that fun shizzle. My car is currently at L-Con in Placentia getting my cage done and when I get it back I'm gonna have it sprayed. I'll post some pics when I get it back. The Motor I'm gonna run is a 99 CTR with Toda's 1pc 4-2-1 Header. I'll be running a straight pipe of course and am interested in the following exahust systems...

What I am interested in is finding a light weight system that is free flowing and has a nice tone, maybe a little raspy but not ricey. Performance is really #1 concern. What are your guys thoughts? Any experience with these systems? Do you guys know of another system you would suggest/recommend? Since I brought up the straight pipe, any suggestions there on making this possibly a bolt on installation? Thanks guys, I really appreciate any help on this. I take it this is for a daily.
I'd suggest a custom piping setup with a long resonator, and an ES Tuning Oval / Vibrant Racing Muffler.

x2 ES Tuning FTW... with custom piping and a resonator you will still be saving money and possibly keep the cops off your back

Spec II won't fit your car without modification. If you're road racing you're not gonna be at 8000rpm all day, so look for something that's free-flowing but not necessarily straight through. You want some backpressure. Any of the exhausts you mentioned are decent, you just have to figure out where you want your powerband to be. I have both a BC Spec III (jap spec not US) and a Tanabe SMH... both have a completely different feel. Buddy Club is noticeable at very high rpms, but the Tanabe keeps some torque in the car.

well if its not a daily, then i recommend the buddyclub spec II. since you're gonna be doing some racing and stuff, this exhaust would be a good setup. designed for racing and it's light weight.

Well from what you posted at top, if you want something thats got a nice deep tone, and sometimes gets a little raspy, Id personally go with one of the tanabe exhausts. I just bought a Tanabe Tuner Medallion Racing universal muffler, and had a local shop fab up some 2.25" piping, no resonator. With the silencer in, it gets a little ricey, as the silencer vibrates around a little bit, but when you take it out, its deep as hell, a little bit loud and has a little rasp when you hit about 4k or so. I love it.
