looking for cleaning the stainless header...
i saw somewhere a couple weeks ago a good how-to with pics of a b series stainless header that was all rusted and a mess. The guy wet sanded it down and polished, and it turned out really good. I wanted to find out what the grit is to use to do this, and if anybody has a link to something like this that would help, thanks!

small bucket with dish soap and cold water. the more soap the better. mix it
then use 400 grit wetsand to get everthing clean. the object is to keep the area you are sanding always wet at all times.
dont worry about swirl marks at this time. your using the 400 grit (350-600 grit is fine) sandpaper to get all the residue off the header. i used 400 grit and it worked great.
once the residue of off, you then use 2000 grit wetsand paper (this is what will take off the swirl marks) and you basically stick to one section and rub and rub. keeping everything as wet as possible.
if you are looking for an easy job this will not be easy. if you want your header to look stainless you will be spending a couple of days on one section. the more you scrub the shiner it will get. then once your happy with the shine you then take mothers chrome polish, follow directions and thats it. oh and yes your fingers will feel like they want to fall off.
before:
b16a 1stgen mugen header

after:
about 5 days 5 hours per day. and smooth as silk and no swirl marks.

was it worth it to me? yea only because it was a 1st gen mugen header.
