Flashing Oil Sensor Light - Help Please!
I drive 45 miles each way to work every day, today my oil sensor light came on - it was blinking about the same speed as my turn signals do. I pulled over & checked the oil - was low but not TOO low & a little dirty, and I'm late for an oil change anyway so I took the car to get the oil changed at lunch today. Driving home, after 40 miles and only when I stopped at a light, it started flashing again.
I pulled over, checked the oil, it's full and clean (as it should be 3 hours after an oil change). Is this sensor just going bad after my car's 15-year life? Anyone out there had this problem before? I'd hate to ignore it and have it mean something that I'm unaware of. Thank you!!

you're oil pump could be dying. its alerting you that something isn't working right, whether ther oil pump is dying, dead or whatever, to you have no oil pressure. you're pressure sensor could be bad too.
yeah don't ignore it. the car thinks you have little to no oil pressure, which could be true.
I would check the wiring to the oil pressure sensor - see if it's loose. If it's on good check the oil pickup in the oil pan to see if it's clogged. it's possible the sensor is clogged, but that's doubtful. do not drive the car until you resolve this problem or your engine may not last much longer.
is there any knocking or funny noises coming from under the hood?

Thanks so much - I actually didn't feel comfortable driving it so I called in to work today, then read this, now I feel better about not going in.
There are no knocking or weird noises coming from under the hood that are loud enough to notice while driving (and my car's pretty quiet), but I'm going to take a closer look/listen today.
I'm going to check out your suggestions if I can & I'll be back in here with updates.

the oil pressure sensor is above the oil filter, check it for leakage. If it is leaking or there is oil under the rubber boot, I'd say to replace it.
If after you replace it ,the oil light again comes on, have an oil pressure test done.
