Probably buying S2K Tomorrow - Which would you choose?
Here's my choices. I'm looking to choose between:
2001 Spa Yellow with 48,000 for $16,495
2002 Suzuka Blue with 39,000 for $18,900
2003 Grand Prix White with 38,000 for $18,450
The price on the GPW is at a no-haggle dealership
though I think that's already a fair price. The Spa Yellow lacks the glass window, obviously, but the price is fantastic. The Suzuka Blue would need to come down at least about $1000 before I would consider buying it, the blue interior is a real turn-off to me, but that is the only one that is in-state and would save me some hassle buying it. Anyway I know the answer to these threads is always 'Pick the one YOU want cause its YOUR car' but I'm asking HT which one would YOU choose and why?

i would love a GPW for that price. i was looking for one when i bought mine but i couldnt find a decent white of black one. i settled for the color but not the car. i would deal over the phone to see what they can do befor i went out of state
Well Maryland to Virginia isnt that bad.. It's really just right down the road. I had been heavily leaning toward the GPW and I'm glad everyone seems to agree thats the one to get!

UPDATE!!!
GPW in question: http://www.autotrader.com/deal...st=25
Yesterday 2/28, I went and drove and looked at the 01' Yellow. It was in very good condition, save for symmetrical wear holes on the sides of the top, very near the body, as well as a slightly wrinkled rear window and a slightly scraped front bumper, on the very bottom. Price was good and I was close to settling on it, but I wanted to hold on for a day and take a look at the GPW one.
I would have looked at the GPW on the same day, but, and this was my first hint that something was wrong, was that the "dealership" (more on why thats in quote in a minute) told me that it was unavailable to be seen that day because it was having an "oil change." Okay sure, whatever I can see them taking it to Honda to have that done and they say I can see it tomorrow (3/1).
Fast forward to today, I get down to Dumfries, 60 miles away, at about 3:15, not exactly the start of the business day. I had called earlier and they said they would have it back by 4-4:15. Okay sure, get some lunch/dinner while waiting. 4 rolls around...4:15...4:30 nothing. Now meanwhile, not one salesman had even come out to try and talk to us. They didn't at all seem like they wanted my business, even if I was about to drop $20,000+ on a car. Another big hint to me that this was gonna suck was that they have had this car listed on autotrader for at least a month, with good miles and a good price and it hasn't sold. Something is up. Anyway eventually someone comes out and they tell me that we can go see the car, wherever else it is. So at this point I'm already ready to be like F*** you guys this place sucks, but I WANT this car to be good. We drive 10-15 miles in rush hour traffic, I'm following some other salesman who never even introduced himself and he takes me into an industrial park and I'm like
. And then, this is the best part, he doesn't turn in to a Honda dealer, he turns into a collision repair center. At this point I'm just like lol this should be good. Sure enough its there, but its in NEED of repair that isn't shown in the photos. Problems that I noticed in the first minute of looking at it:
Cracked Windshield (5" ish, bottom center)
Bald front tires
At least 5 moderate sized door dings on the passenger side
Front bumper has 5-6 at least 1" long scratches on it, the Interior carpet is a blend of brown & black, the shiftknob is on upside down, and won't be tightened more into being up correctly, and if you unscrew it to the right position its lose
Almost empty tank of gas
The "salesman" who is just like the other 3 or 4 guys I saw working there is an Indian looking dude with greased up black hair (no offense to Indians, just what they all looked like) in a tacky black get-up suit. He offers me a test drive, WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING MY LICENSE, and I already know I'm not gonna buy this but hey I enjoy driving S2Ks so why not. And now, not only has he not checked my license but he's like I'll wait here
And tells me to go drive somewhere (keep in mind I don't know the area at all). I go down a road and bust a U'y and come back, making sure to redline it and hit that M4DDDD VTAKK!!!1one!! I parked, told him "I like how it drives, but for the amount of money you're asking this thing has way to many problems. You have a good day." and left.

Edit: In the one day since I looked at the Yellow 01', its been sold already *sigh*

I don't care what color it is. Clearly of the cars between the original MY00 to the present MY07, the MY03 has the best of both worlds an virtually no drawbacks. If I could have found one with low mileage when I was shopping for my second S, I'd have got an MY03 over the MY04 that I bought.
As long as it's in decent shape, the MY03 is the best buy.
