I had to drop down to 40 profile tires when I went up to 16 inch rims on a Sol (205/40-R16), and at least on that car, no rub.
But in retrospect, I think 195/50-R15's would have been a better choice. As it stands now, the 205's go right out to the edge of the fenders. Nice look, but with 1" clearance, I'd hate to hit a huge pothole (normal driving is fine, even on CA roads). Plus, they let it a bit TOO much road feel.
Go as advised, 195/50 FTW.

a 60 size on a 15inch 5th gen will be to much tire and will rub.

If you have a B-series transmission, you need a 205/50/15 to make the speedometer read correctly.
If you have a D-series transmission, you need a 195/50/15 to make the speedometer read correctly.

I'm not sure how much of a difference 19.5mm/2cm will make.
So you're saying a 50 AR on a 195 tire won't rub but a 60 AR on a 195 tire (which is 2cm larger) WILL rub?
Seems like you're cutting it too close with the 195/50's that everybody so avidly agreed on.

With a lowered car, you would run the 50s for better clearance, the 60s would more then likly rub on a lowered car.
right now i have a 60/14 on my car, and when i tried to put a 65/14 it rubbed, thats my experience. so increasing an inch and stayin with the 60s (i would ASSUME would rub).
and i was looking at this as well for the speedo corrections http://www.1010tires.com/TireS...ubmit

I'm not sure where you keep getting this size from. He asked what size he should run, and in most cases, people asking that question want to know what the proper size should be. That means a size that will retain the same overall diameter as the original setup, unless the owner specifically wants to run a different size for "gearing" changes or some other purpose. As others have mentioned, 195/50-15 would correctly match the original diameter.
