h-motors is one of the best places to source a motor it seems. Never have heard anything negative about them.

HMO is probably the best place to get a motor.

yea well i really have no problem, but i got the same motor from them... i got a shittly one... yea it was clean, but my water pump went bad really fast, it runs really rich, the middle valve cover bolt whole is stripped (in the head of the motor, not the bolt its self), the valve cover leaked oil as well as the oil pan, but i guess i am just picky....

Not the waterpump, I mean **** happens, but stripped bolt holes, I'd be pissed.

yea they are... right now i am running w/ the 90 si tranny, but someday i will convert it to a 92+ hydro tranny cuz i hate the feel of the cable.... + i heard that the gearing is shorter than the 90's... but u cant complain when u get 40 mpg on the high way

well thats normally a good motor unless its mine. Mine has almost 200,000 miles on it and when I took it apart i found out that whoever had the car before me rode it pretty hard and did not do any maintinance work on the car. my poor valves are sooooo decayed from carbon buildup they're almost gone, my cylinder walls are fubar and i have mad crankshaft wear. I could rebuild it but i just said expletive it I'm gettin a b16a2.

You can build that motor to be bad *** though.

I got my JDM D15B VTEC from HMotorsOnline.com. The only problem I had was a badly dented oil pan (unusable) that was either done when HMO dropped it on the wooden pallet (which was broken in the center so the motor was resting on the ground) or by carriers (could have dropped the whole damn pallet". Steve @ HMO sent me another oil pan after a few days (I'm on the other side of the US) Motor runs great to this day 4.5 yrs later and I beat on it.

Most folks, including myself change the water pump, timing belt and miscellaneous (sp?) gaskets before swapping the motor in. The stripped bolt does suck though.

Good motor....Swap the intake on it because it's tiny.
