have to hold car in start possisition

So i have had my 93 honda 4 a few months now and it bone stock. When i start the car it will idle 4 a second but it just dies unless i hold it in the start possisition. what is going on here???

timming or fuel pump or maby ignitor coil going out could be alot what was it doing before if u push the gas what does it do elaborate more
