Default Best coilover or shock/spring combo for DAILY DRIVING?

I'm looking for a great suspension combo to suit my daily driving needs. I don't plan to autox or anything. I just want a nice drop and tighten up my handling a bit and I'm not sure wether I should go for a full coilover set or a shock/lowering spring set. Price doesn't really apply as I'm willing to be patient and save up for quality products.

Oh and I just purchased a 2000 coupe with 100k miles. Is there anything I should replace to keep it running well?

my buddy has H&R race springs on KYB AGX's and it rides real good. stiff over bumps and handles good...and they're adjustable

Could you post a picture or two? I do plan to have a sytem one day and don't want the back to sit too low. Roads here are rough.

Hey,
From what I have seen if you just buy coilovers or springs the stock struts wear out pretty fast. How much money are you looking to spend? If you could find a used tein setup that would be the way to go. Full shock/ strut setup with adjustable ride height. Also, you can adjust the firmness of the suspension, so if you do decide that you want to do an autocross you have the capability.

As far as keeping you honda running well, something you should do around 100k or even sooner is replace the timing belt and water pump. If that hasn't been done yet you might want to look into it.

I don't have a budget really as I am willing to be patient and save up for quality parts. How much would replacing the timing belt and water pump cost me?

Imo shocks (AGX's) and springs are the way to go.

They ride stiff but not stiff to knock your head on the roof.

i too have a 2000 Civic (DX Hatch)

im running KYB (4 way adjustable fronts, 8 way adjustabel rears) and Tanabe GF210 springs. drop was really nice and level and not toooo low (it is a daily driver)

very happy with the set up. rides nice (F-2 and R-4) for back and forth to work duties. occasional canyon drives are at F-4 R-6~8 depending on the road and it handles very very well.

like someone already posted @ 100k miles do the t-belt, water pump if it hasnt been done yet.....change out tranny fluid and flush radiator too. i bought my car with almost the same miles.

I was wondering the same thing, and I have Omni Coil overs and I love them. Stiff, but not too stiff, and they handle very well for me. They aren't adjustable as far as stiffening the ride, but ride height is adjustable. I like my Omnis a lot.
