Default car jerks and tach jumps above 4k rpm...misfiring? 97 SH

When I'm driving like a grandma everything is fine through all the gears. But when I try to get on it and my rpms get above 4-4.5k the car starts to jerk and the tach spikes really high then goes back to norm and if I keep my foot on the gas it will continue. It happens in 2nd and 3rd for sure, I haven't tried it in 4th or 5th but I would be going to fast to risk my car jerking right or left uncontrollably. I don't know if this is misfiring, but I would think it is. I haven't been able to touch vtec since this has been happening because who would keep reving if this was happening. I've had the ignitor replaced and the ignition recall or whatever it is called done but that didn't fix anything. Any help would be great.

check your fuel pump... or at least repleace the filter first. Sounds similar to a problem I had. Have you done plugs, wires, cap/rotor yet?

I'm fairly sure its not throwing any codes. If my check engine light is not on could it still be throwing codes? I will check out the fuel pump and filter. I believe that ignition switch recall bullshit replaces plugs, wires, cap and rotor along with others, but I'm not sure if they really did, I know they atleast replaced the cap because it used to be brown and now its black. The honda dealership here is terrible and they make me want to never buy another honda again.

That's a good question about the cel. I don't really know, Honda told me some bullshit like it was disconnected and that they reconnected it but it still has never come on since I owned the car. I'm gonna take it to like auto zone today and ask them to chekc if its throwing any codes even know the light isn't on.

Does it come on when you start the car or turn the key to the acc position?

Yeah so my cel turns on when I turn on the car so I guess it works. I got it checked anyways and it doesn't throw any codes. Honda said its gonna be really hard to find out what it is because it isn't throwing any codes but they'll check it out anyways, I'll hear from them tomorrow and most likely hate them more after.

I don't really know much at all about cars but what would replacing my alternator have to do with my car jerking and **** at high rpms? Like I said before I don't know if it is actually misfiring, but my tach spikes and the car jerks pretty good when it happens.

I don't think it would, when you see the tach jump, does the check
engine light flicker?

I don't believe the check engine light flickers and it spikes real fast then comes back but does it again pretty quick.
