Default d16a6 to d15b7 swap

Hey i searched the threads and cant find any info ! i need a bit of help from you guys !! my buddy blew his motor in his 1990 civic Si wich has a d16a6 , he has a spare d15b7 from a 1992 Civic Dx . Do you guys think i would run into problems doing this swap ? and could i keep the stock Si ecu to run the d15b7 ? Thanks alot and hope someon will take the time to reply !

Use the a6 intake mani, exhaust mani, wiring, ecu, injectors on the b7. Also, if you can find a y7/y8 cam gear, put the a6 cam in the b7.

just put the si head on the 1.5 block and change the crank pulley cause the new one is a 4 rib and the old one is a 3 rib and all will be fine. and also if you shave the si head down as far as it will go you will be running high compression it will be pretty quick but with my experiences you will have to run premium gas

hey thannks for the quick reply , would i have to do anything special to put the a6 cam in ? i just swap cam for cam pretty much !! so a6 cam and a6 cam gear on a b7 ! thats possible ?

No, you need the y7/y8 gear. The timing will be off without it, unless you fool around with it for awhile.

It is less work to keep the b7 head on the b7 than to swap heads. Depending on which year the b7 is, the head could be exactly the same as the a6 besides the cam.

The D16A6 head is the SAME as the D15B7, same casting, different cams.

Early b7 heads had different valve springs.
