Default poor mans type r

I understand that a poor mans type r is gsr block w/ itr pistons and a b16 head w/itr valvetrain......... a friend of mine told me the b16 head isnt really necesary that I can get as much power with my gsr head. Is he pulling my leg???

With the gsr head you will actually have a little higher compression than with a b16 head,so your friend is probably right. But you could just mill the b16 head for the extra bump in compression also.
