code 3 check engine (yes i check the search)
my car has been cutting off on me then when it does it makes a hissing noise and then a carbon like smell comes in the car .......but i could never get a check engine light now it comes on last night....check the ecu check today and bam.............code 3 and then following that code 14.......i know the 14 is EACV but what is the code 3 would it happen to be a map and is so which one

Yes, code 3 is MAP sensor; but it could be caused by the IAC.
Try unplugging the IAC while at idle to see if the RPM drops a couple hundred.

my idle is freakin LOW.............like 300 rpm but i will unplug the IAC......
damn search engine......................

Holy smokes 300 RPM!!
I'd guess the IAC screen is either completely plugged up or dead.
There is a screen on the IAC that can get plugged up with soot.

yeah lucky me i got one fore free from the junk yard been wondering if i might need to use it first let me try to clean this bad boy.......
