According to metraonline.com when putting a deck into a 00 civic you need a 1721. A EG requires a 1720. You can go to the junkyard, cut off a harness that plugs into the SI deck, then get a aftermarket harness for the EG, and solder and tape the two together.
One of these... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...HA02B for the car and one of these for the 2000 Si HU... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...A08RB
and some mods from this mounting system... http://www.installdr.com/Insta...5.pdf "ISO"
to this one...

Yes it will fit, no it will not look stock.

Did you look at the diff. ways the two units are installed in the links I gave you?
You will see you need a bracket on the back of the HU to mount it into your your car.
If you still have your stock HU, check to see if the rear bracket is removable and not just an extension of the bottom lid of the unit, if it is not transferable use your HU as a "template" to see where the bracket has to go, keep in mind, [and you will see] when you pull your HU out that even though it is held in with 2 machine screws, [one at each end of the bracket] the sub frame the HU is mounted to also has a hole/slot in what would be the center of the HU, you may only need a simple "L" bracket.

i have this setup on my 94 civic hatch. I bought a 98+ honda civic reverse harness and also a regular honda harness for the 94 civic. Then you just connect the two together and there you go. No need to splice or cut your stock harness.
