hi all im new to this i recieved a 1991 honda accord 4 door ex dark blue with 125000 kms about 6 months ago im now looking into doing some slight performance upgrades now that im done with my sound and alarm system. was wondering whether removing my cat (no emmisoins testings in alberta!) and putting an exaust and what type? will improve performance slightly?

I don't think removing the CAT Converter will give any kind of gains that would make it worth the effort.

Removing the cat will not make your car any faster unless it's broken. Keep it earth-friendly

Best thing to do first is probably a really good tune-up. Do an ignition service, clean the TB and IM with some carb cleaner, new air/fuel filters, etc. You will likely be surprised how much power you get out of a healthy motor. Mods would be a waste if the motor is out of tune.

Also, unless you just want a loud car, suspension is usually a better place for low budget modding. $1000 under the hood gets you 3hp and a farty car, but $1000 on the chassis makes a world of difference.

+1^^^^

Suspension is where to start man....say you put 1500bucks in ur engine (h-series head/ 4-2-1 header/ high flow cat-back exhaust/) you'd feel killer gains....but your problem would be the balance of the car....with any upgraded power gains you need to make the same with the drivetrain/brakes/suspension....thats my ten cents...lol
