I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
From my perspective that looks like the most ******* rediculous idea ever. Lets take all the energy from a frontal impact and transfer it into the cabin. Yeah the driver is dead, but at least the K swap survived j0!

I agree with your point... however, you must realize that this is NOT a daily driven or probably even a street driven car
I mild frontal impact simply isnt an option for it.

the idea is that if you do get into a frontal impact at a high speed that the motor wont end up in your lap
saw a thing about it on muscle car TV and it is part of the required roll cage to meet scca specifications
