OK guys, I have a 99 Prelude, automatic tranny..When it is in park or neutral u hear a moaning noise coming from the tranny...It goes away when you go in drive and reverse..BUT when you are driving and coming to a stop you can actually hear the tranny downshifting, seesm like some play in the tranny..
Anyways I have 75K miles and I have never changed the tranny fluid, would this help? also addiditves such as Penzoil synchromesh?
I may need a new tranny??

Its possible, depends on what is wronge with it. You can burn out tranny fluid in under 1000 miles if you beat on it and get it over 300 degrees (tranny not the engine). And if It was been bad fluid for say 10,000 miles it could do some serious damage, and only get worse from there.

You've got 75K miles and the tranny's ATF has never been changed? I'm suprised it still works. Get it changed ASAP, atleast twice. Use Honda ATF, mix a little Mobil 1 with it. (1/4 - 1/3 ratio, you'll love the results).
Change it once every 15K miles. Forget Honda's recommendation. Every 15K miles and the transmission should last awhile (under "normal" driving).
