Y21 JDM tranny VSS technical questions

Some y21 JDM tranny I Have seen had different VSS compare to USDM standard civic

the USDM VSS don't fit

someone know what to do when the VSS is defect or broke?

I just bought a 99 gsr vss and it does not fit also. the vss seems too big.
