Prelude with V6
Ever been attempted? Pics? just curious, my friend has a Prelude with a non-VTEC and was spit-balling unconventional ideas. We know the weight factor and the lack of industry support, but we were only curious what a CL-S V6 w/ 6 spd tranny would do in a 98 Prelude. Found a motor and tranny combo for $2500 already. We are very skeptical of this, but wanted to know if this is even plausible without major cutting and welding. I mean, you can shoe horn an H22 in an EG, and it'll be a close fit, but it'll go. Prelude engine bay is much bigger and has the potential, at least from our perspective. Yey or ney? If not, we'll run home to the H22A and call it a day. Thanks in advance. No flames please, I know how controversial this topic sounds, its just an inquiry to meet possible ends.
prelude and accord are the same chassis right? What about cl is it the same. Either way you shouldnt have any problems should go in with the accord mounts or some combination of factory mounts.
I was thinking that would be the way to go, but I'm concerned about it being a 98. Will it be compatible with CL-Ss and newer V6 Accords? Its a 3.2L iVTEC. Don't know enough about V6s to know if these motors mount differently or if there is some crazy one-off detail about them that makes them decidedly un-Legolike, like the rest of Honda's components.
To start, this will not be a bolt in swap in any way. With that being said, I work in an auto tranny shop and have done of those trannys so i have some knowledge of them. the accord and cl are basically the same and use the same front suspension. however, the front subframe is very different. It still uses the radius rods but has the mounts for the motor and trans bolted to it. if you can adapt the subframe to the prelude which seems feasible then it should be a nice swap. P.S. if you need a harness made for this or need wiring help PM me
