OT: I think I'm in love....
and have found a future successor to my beloved Type R.
I got word of this future vehicle at the executive meeting of Performance Driver's Club here in Vancouver. I was grilling the former president of PDC about what car he is going to get next - he currently drives a Porsche 996 GT3. He said he did a tour of the Brammo facilities in Oregon to look at the new Ariel Atom 2 - but was concerned about the safety of the vehicle as no crash testing has been done on the car and he felt the firewall was very thin and did not protect the driver from a rear collision...blah blah blah. He said he was very interested in the new KTM Crossbow. I said...what car? what's that? never heard of it.
The next day I am in the Vancouver airport and flipping through the latest issue of CAR magazine and find a story on this.....
The KTM X-Bow

-vehicle weight of 1543 lbs!!
-Audi 2.0L FSI turbo powerplant with up to 300 bhp
-optional Audi DSG sequential gearbox
-F1 style steering wheel

Dennis is now looking to see if he can get the car in North America.
I told him he would have a customer if he did....

No - just trailer it to the track and destroy all
This car has no roof, no gauges, no a/c - no creature comforts
Just an engine, chassis and amazing handling.
Pure driving nirvana in other words.

est $70K USD for performance that will beat an Enzo
It's supposed to come with custom helmets and clothing - designed for all weather use.
It also comes with a cover to protect from rain.
I bet it would be a hoot in the snow with some studded ice tires

Ariel Atom wannabe!
"Atom is manufactured by a small British company from Somerset with only about ten employees. Its Honda engine, taken over from Civic Type-R, is supplemented by mechanical supercharger which provides 300 hp. Having in mind that Atom weighs only 456 kilograms, its acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds is not surprising."
