Default help me get this straight

ok so im still in the planning stages of my 88-91 CRX b18c swap... most of the swaps come with engine and hydro transmission... now i've been searching and i see that rex's came with cable tranny's and for me to put the hydro in i'd have to put the master cylinder and slave in and a lot of b/s... so would it be easier to just buy the b18c and another compatable cable tranny? or am i wrong with the whole conversion thing... and which is better cable or hydro or no difference.... thanks

you should buy a JDM tranny from the B16....all B seires trannys will fit B seires engines. Ultimately the best would be a YS1 with a LSD. In the end the YS1 leaves you more options. Finding one is the hard part. Your other options from the B16 are the Y1 or the J1 (I think it was the J1). Neither came with and LSD. I know a guy that sells them on E-bay, that tests them before he sends them.

u convert the tranny , NOT the car. which means u buy a kit from hasport to convert ur hydro tranny to cable tranny. different tranny has different potential, so pick ur tranny according to ur driving style, setup.

b16 trannys are all cable no conversion needed. They will bolt up to the car and the engine

Nothing but the bolts needed and a different shift cable.

Not to burst your bubble but this is wrong. 99-00 civic si's are b16s and the trannys are hydro.

he might have just been referring to the obd-0 b16 motors and made a blanket statement in error.
- hasport, and another company have the cable to hydro conversion if you do indeed need it for your car.

and to answer your Q about whats the difference between cable and hydro tranny is that a hydro is a little bit firmer pedal and the cable is adjustable hydro isnt but all in all there really isnt a difference in the way they "grab" its really just driver preference on what they like hydro or cable

hydro is self adjusting. uses a hydrolic(sp?) to engage/disengage the clutch

cable tranny you have to adjust it yourself every so often. uses a cable to engage the clutch.

personal preference i like the hydro. just me though. some of my friends rather have cable.
