Where did you get ur HID's, how they look?
Reason why im asking this, I got some HID's here on honda-tech, from sponsored marketplace. I ordered a saet of HID's in 10K for my Civic (h4) When I turn the HID's on, they charge up, the freaking lights look WHITE! a tiny tiny bit of blue tint can be noticed at further angles in sutch.
But 10K, should be BLUE! I mean, I dont care what angle or how far away you look at it, it should be Brilliant BLUE!
I did, however, obly pay 160.00 shipped for the kit, I guess you get what you pay for.
But im curious of where you got your kits, how they look, and how much they cost???
Id like to buy another set of HID's for my other car, but now im affriad to, im afraid i wont get what I want, and I want BLUE!
My friend also purchased a set of 12Ks for his prelude, however, they barely look purple.

look at the difference,
This is 12K from honda-tech..

this is a Civic with 12K's an ebay kit for 250.00

as you can see, the ebay kit IS PURPLE! like its suppos to be!
Now I wonder if I can just buy some bulbs from ebay, and they will be the color I want?

My thoughts EXACTLY but he is buying HID's so that they are blue haha, even though light output is less. WOW!

different companies offer different K's and you can't just compare one kit to another based on the same temperature.
different companies advertise different temperatures and they output differently, so you probably got what you ordered but not what you're looking for by looking at another temperature kit of another company

Some hid pnp kits have a burn in time, like with oe 4300K in it's new/fresh bulb state it's more of a bright off white halogen color (3900K-4100K) but after so many hours the bulb "color shifts" and it turns a more brilliant white. My buddies 6000k kit he had was a pureish white at first but after a few days it turned a blue tinged white......
No, she looks ridiculous. Projectors are what give you that color you want, just having blue or purple headlights are plain silly. You lose output in return for color, not to mention glare and poor light distribution.

But my HID's look white, so its all good

Bright how? In their eyes? In hotspots on the road, but not even so you can see the sides of the road well?
It has to do with focus, that's the important aspect. Focus and kelvin rating.
Those are blue, btw.
Believe me, i've gone through a lot of halogens, and an HID kit, and it's not worth blowing your money for that 'look'. Retrofit is really the only way to go, and i've spend several hundred dollars figuring that out. Probably more like 500.

No, 8k or more and no retrofit = rice.
As has been said a bunch of times already...4300 is optimal light output. After like 6 or 8 youre losing a lot of light for the sake of having more color. Good HIDs are only colored along the light cutoff line. Retrofits allow the HIDs to function as they're supposed to...focused. Throwing HID bulbs in like they're regular bulbs just makes them glare all over. Get in a car with them from the factory and point it toward a wall and you'll see.
