Default Everything pure must die. (...carnage pics inside)

Driving from my apartment to my parents place out this morning in my beater car--95 Civic with d15b7 stock engine, small 13b mitsu turbo, hf manifold, about 12x14 intercooler, dsm 450cc blacktops, tuned on something like 8lbs (never had a boost gauge to confirm...), hondata s200, po6 ecu, whatever else--anyway, driving back home, country road, got on it a bit (75% throttle?) and thought that i ran over a landmine. look in the rearview to see some of my engine bouncing around on the road.

car was well tuned about a year ago (seriously, the car ran great...) it had about 220,000 miles on it, and i have beat the living hell out of it. it has been stolen, driven by horrible girl drivers, horrible guy drivers (me), riced out, de-riced out, shattered windshield, etc. its the best car i have ever (or will ever) own. below are some shitty pictures of the aftermath back at the folks' house. sorry, they were taken with my cell phone:

its safe to say i havent washed this car in months...

only badasses plow snow in their civics.

heres the setup. good for low 12's/high 11's (blatant lie).

heres the first thing that caught my eye (this is the front of the block by the torque/engine mount)

and another...

head/valves looks fine (minus a ****-ton of oil)

then i notice this (the back of the block-also a giant hole):

that rod was just flat-out pissed off at that piston (or me)

and the block with the head off.

so thats that. im not sure if im going to drop the oil pan or not (although it may turn up some of the piston). if you see parts that you want, PM me. ill get rid of the **** for dirty cheap or for free. im going to junk the shell-so its free for the taking if anyone wants it. the only parts im keeping are the iacv, radiator, and alternator. sorry, didnt mean to turn this into an advertisement...

overall, not really torn up at all about the engine as im probably going to replace the car with a land rover this summer some time. plus i am in the process of building my prelude. let me know what you think.

Wait, so you will give the shell away for free? I'll take it if you are.

That is some major damage btw.

yep, the shell is yours if you want it. the car is in Pataskala. PM me if you are truely interested and we will make arrangements. i told my mom it would be gone by next friday-so it will go to the junk yard then.

hell no, the dad and i just had to push the thing "out of the way." it was a bitch trying to work to pull the engine apart with that plow in the way.

i can probably find 2 or 3 d series engines for free around here. its just not worth the work though. im looking for a few different things: decent land rover discovery, a clean older 2.5 RS or WRX, or a MINT ef hatch. well see though...im def not going to regret not having this car. it has been good to me.

HMT setup actually looks good. That looks like an old ford probe intercooler actually. Short piping, small turbo - must have spooled up damn quick.

thanks. i really wanted to "half *** it" without everything looking like ****.

i was never quite sure what the ic was off of. youre probably right about it being from a probe. yeah, that turbo is really small. i almost used an even smaller one. it spooled lightning quick but obviously with that mani and the size of the turbo, it lost its breath pretty quick (even on the 1.5). heres a dyno plot of the setup (dont laugh...)

and if you couldnt read those mind-numbing numbers...
