Default I have heard people mention a H22A ShortBlock, is there such a thing?

I have posted 2 post about going OBD1 or staying OBD2, in my replies I received comments about swapping out my H22A4 for a H22A Short Block. Is there such a engine? Are they better?

a short block means just the motor. A long block has everything on it. Likes say if u blew ur motor your would want a short block to replace it. If you where swapping to h22 you would a full long block.

Wrong.

short block is a block only no head attatched
long block is head and block together
bare block is just that a Bare block no crank rods or pistons

Thank You, now I understand. My engine threw a rod, so all I needed was a short block.

...Also you can use an OBD1 short block and still keep the car OBD2 just use the OBD2 oil pump (crank trigger is on the oil pump) and everythingesle on the existing OBD2 timing side under the timingcover ie. crankgear, balancer gear and your good to go

Might want to check your valves. Depending on the situation in which the rods went out, they could have taken out some valves along with them.

I want to know what you did?? How would you have saved money..

And... Wow... The comments in this thread aren't even funny... I can't believe guys don't know the difference between a Long Block, a Short Block and a Bare Block... Think about what it means before you post, and if you don't know, don't tell others that don't know and give them wrong information...

I just purchased a H22A LongBlock, thats getting swapped this week. I could bought the shortblock from the guy or someone for less than what I paid for the long block. I am happy with the engine I purchased from Hmotorsonline. It was worth the money.
