Default intake manifold and gasket

hey h-t i just took my intake manifold out and my gasket its pretty much stuck on there. i need to replace it but i dont know the best way to take this off. also what can i put in my intake manifold, liquid wise, so that i can clean it all out. thank you

For the gasket, the only way I know of to get all of the old paper gasket off is with a razor blade/scraper. You also can get that gasket remover stuff that softens it up to help it come off easier. For the manifold, if you have it off, any good solvent/cleaner should be ok as long as you make you any residue is completely removed before you reinstall it. I think I used a combination of Simple green and carb/intake cleaner when I had mine off.

It's a bitch to remove all the gunk, even with Permatex Gasket Remover (wear nitril gloves - the **** burns)

Once you have finished the 4 hours of scraping, buy a Hondata gasket and never scrape again!

take it to a table grinder.

I spent maybe 15 minutes scraping off a corner of this rear differental housing on an s10 i think, i then took it to a table grinder (pretty sure thats what it is called) and the entire surface was gasket free within 2 minutes
