whats the difference between drag slicks and slicks designed for track racing
i just bought a set of wheels of this guy and we got chatting and it turns out he owns an ex touring car integra type r that he races (lucky git)
and he said he has 8 part worn slicks that i can have for nothing and i was wondering if these would be any good for drag racing

the sidewalls are different. On road racing type tires that look like "slicks" on the contact patch, the sidewalls are like road tires. Its stiff and does not have the flex like drag racing tires have. You may have a decent compund that would stick better than a regular street tire, but its a waste of time using a track tire for drag racing.
Get a drag slick.
Get a drag slick.
i wouldnt say its any better. it may have a softer compound than street tires, but the sidewalls are usually low profile and hard which doesnt make it good.
