no, dont buy a particle board box. build one yourself, $25 for a sheet of 3/4 mdf and $10 in drywall screws and liquid nails. and you can build 2 boxes easy out of the material.

 

First off.. What is mdf short for? Does it go by another name? Oh and does home depot sell this stuff?

 

medium density fiberboard, yeah home depot or some place like that should carry it. check sounddomain.com forums they have lots of posts about making boxes.

if you are interested in building your own boxes, go over to jlaudio.com and read their tutorial section top to bottom. It gives a lot of great box building info that isn't bogged down with too much tech jargon...it's a good read.
