Default Problems Installing Power Windows into a DX

Ok so I took the drivers side harness and plugged in the plug (red circle) into the back of the under dash fuse box. Installed the power window relay and the three fuses. Tried controlling it with the switch and nothing happend.

Can anyone help me out or tell me how I can troubleshoot this? Thanks.

i see that you have the harness that plugs into the factory fuse box. If you go that route you have to put in some fuses(what you already did) and then also put in the relay for the power windows(i'm guess this is what you need). If you look on that fuse box, on the right side there should be a big black block, basically you need the one that goes above that. Found at a dealership or you local yard.

both of the green plugs should be plugged in when everything is done but yeah you have it hooked up right. check for power on the connector that goes into the switch. you should have power on the white/yellow and blue/black wires. black should have continuity to ground.

I actually can't see the relay that's why I pointed it out. Right where that picture cuts off there's two black relays kinda like the one you see at the top of the same image. The top of the two on the right is for the windows.

OK..I put a relay in the spot marked with the red arrow. It also says P/W underneath the location so im guessing that means power window? Thats the relay monicle said to put in on his instructions. Can you point out which relay you are talking about dad0c402?

What do you guys think is best way of hooking up the motors to see if they work? Should i just splice a power and ground wire from wires in my car and just jimmy rig the regulators to that?

Thanks everybody.

Does anyone know for sure which wires I should connect the power and ground to in order to test the regulators? Ive look at three different wiring diagrams that say different things.

Ok...so i made a red circle around the area of interest in the diagram below. I was wondering which of the wires i need to connect power up to for it to work with the black ground wire.

There is a red/yel, red/blu and blu wire.
Which of these three or combination of does the power need to be connected to?

Thanks.

the blue wire is only used for auto down, connect power to red/yellow and ground to red/blue to make the window go down, and the reverse to make it go up.

Do you have both sides hooked up, because I think you need to in order to complete the circut.

ok figured it out....so in addition to the green plug that is in monicles walk-thru, there is also a large ground connector that you have to hook up to a ground in your car. I will post pics up later.

Now i just gotta figure out how to get the passengers side to work. Any tips?

....and get rid of all the wires in the harness that i won't be needing. Thanks for the help everybody.

i got the passengers side to work...you just need to plug in one of the grey plugs in the harness. I will probably post another thread of the steps needed later.

THanks again everybody for the help.

welll...i wasted about two hours when all of a sudden my passengers side window wasn't working. I was stupid and didn't think of checking the fuse first which indeed was blown and ended up trying to find a nonexistant bad connection in the wire.

Anyone got any idea why the fuse blew? Is there a way to make sure that the fuse doesn't blow regularly after i install the regulators permanantly? Thanks.
