Default code 8? car running fine

alright so i have 2 ecu's both pm6's one '88 an one '90 im selling the 88 to someone doing an mpfi swap.

i tested the 88 ecu and its running fine through all gears and all the way up to redline, but its throwing a code 8 (tdc code)

im assuming this is something inside the ecu throwing the code?
is this going to give the new owner of the ecu any problems?

btw: i have informed the person im selling it to this information

i wouldnt think the ecu has anything to do with a code.. your distributor is probably throwing the code.

if this would be true then why doesn't my other ecu throw the code as well?

maybe is there something different between the 88 and 90 ecu that one of them is looking for something that the other is not?
