i was thinking about it during class today. its pretty much a cold air intake but bigger. if i did ever do it would i just seal up the other side with like the silicone hosing?

 

If you sealed one side then you wouldnt be able to get any air. A intercooler doesn't have holes besides inlet and outlet. Dumb idea anyways, your not going to see any gain from it.

 

very dumb. Better off with a regular AEM CAI.

 

But guys, it will cool the intake air down to ambient air temps before it goes into the motor! Thats like 50hp...

The fact is, it isn't gonna do anything, and you might want to look into exactly what an intercooler does before you actually try this...

There was a company that made a "front mount cold air intake" (dont' know if they still do) that looks like an intercooler with an oversized air filter in the front grill. The only problem is that the only thing this will do is block incoming air to the radiator...

There are also fake plastic "interFOOLers" that just sit in the front bumper to look like you have a Turbo system on your car. You could try one of those...

Some company makes an FMIC look-alike intake for civics and the guys on Horsepower TV a while back tried it out on their project civic and I think they actually lost power.
