Hey guys, back a couple of months ago I bought a 2000 Prelude, everything was great for a while. Now out of nowhere I can't get the driver side door to open (from the inside or out). And yes, the door is unlocked. I pulled the diagrams from the repair manual but I'm not exactly sure how to get the door panel off without the door actually being open. Has anybody had any sort of problem like this? I'd appreciate any help.

well if you can open it from the outside in. thats a start.. then pull the door panel off and check to see if the thin metal bar going from your handle the lock is still connect..

lol nvmed. didn't see the or... Did your troubles with the door happen after a really cold night or something like that.

 

If the door is stuck closed, you may need a to get a tow truck driver to open it up first.

+1 for tow truck ripping your doors off.

 

This sounds like a PITA. I would first try unscrewing the inside door handle, and seeing if the rod is still attached. If it had come loose try pulling on the rod and open the door. Since the outside and inside both stopped working at the same time I would guess that this will probably not work though. Damn, this is a pickle.

 

roll down ur window, get a little piece of wire, make a hook out of it, find the metal piece that connects to ur exterior door handle ( inside the door, between the window and exterior panel), hook it up and pull on it , at the same time pull ur door handle and it will open. i had the same problem with my integra, a piece that connects to the door handle from inside came loose and popped out.
