Default Toda Header

I have a 98 spec itr and have just purchased some toda headers of EBAY. Now the auction says that these headers will fit both 96 and 98 spec. Just want to confirm if fitting headers to a 96 or 97 spec is any different to 98 spec itr's??

Thanks

What's a headers and why is it plural? Headers are for V8's. Toda makes an Exhaust Manifold.

The blocks are the same. That is not what the seller was referring too. There are subtle differences in the suspension and gearing mainly on the 98 ITR. That is more or less all they are referring too.

the difference between 96 and 98 spec is the header bracket that's near the collector, 98 spec uses an aluminum bracket while 96 spec ( along with usdm) uses a stamped steel bracket. the bolt spacing on both are different, so i don't see how your toda will fit both, unless you don't bother using the bracket. can you give me a link to the ebay auction?

And a race header

It's just like everyone calling it a wing on the car. Planes have wings, cars have spoilers....

But yea, it's not plural bud. There is only one header for a 4 banger. 2 for V-6's and V-8's

Bit of a bugger as I have already purchased it. Still don't know if it is for the 98 spec or not as the seller has not told me for sure. He still maintains it will fit both!
If it doesn't fit then somebody in NZ will be getting a cheap Toda header!!

Can you re drill the bracket holes to fit the mountings?
Cheers

Dont fret. It will work. Only problem might be with your cat and exhaust combo. But that isnt a biggie.

If your bracket doesn't work, you can always buy the bracket from a 98+ ITR and use that. I have a Toda header on mine and I'm not currently using the bracket.

exactly....fuggit....

fit a stiffer rear engine mount or an engine mount insert and do away with the bracket altogether.

they have arrived and are 98 spec but they do not have those clip looking things on the downward (vertical) part of the piping. Do all toda exhaust manifolds have these???....or a mine potentially fake???
Cheers

the newer gen 2 toda headers do not come with the springs anymore, those are just cosmetic anyway
