supercharge an all motor b18c7 .... possible?
As the title states, here is a brief list of my components.
B18c7 Toda valve train, toda spec b cams, Larger T/B, Mugen intake, Shaved head, Toda forged high comp pistons ~12.3:1, toda oil pump, ats final drive, power FC, e.t.c, spoon headers, 2.5 exhaust, Rc 330 injectors
As you can see i have travelled down the all motor path... so heres the question, I do believe I should be able to keep 90% of my handling characteristics by boosting the R with a charger ( correct me if I'm wrong please ), so is it possible to boosty the R withour having to drop my compression ratio, also what other mods might be needed or what parts might need to be removed???
Thanks for your help guys...
Jansen

Hmmm. That is a toughy. I know that OEM compression takes supercharging quite well. Unfortunately, I am unsure about your higher compression ratio. There is one member in the ITR forum that is more or less the supercharger guru, but I have not seen him on the boards in many months.
Maybe contact the manufactuer of the supercharger your interested and talk to the technical department.

He's in Brisbane, so Australia I think? our Euro engines are b18c6, not 7...
And about boosting it: it can be done, stuff like that can 'always' be done. Higher compression + boost hp > lower compression + same boost hp.
But it will be a lot more difficult to tune. Because you need one hell of a tune!

well how much power are you looking to gain? are you tuned on a dyno? by a pro?
maybe getting a shortblock with a bigger bore, longer stroke, a different intake manifold/ported itr, and a beefier set of cams would be right down your alley?
about the same price as the supercharger without so much risk of blowing it up, and without all the heat from the supercharger.
a bigger header too

its gonna produce a lot of heat with all that compression + compressor, i wouldnt do it.
Lower that compression for the peace of mind.
U will <3 boost

</TD></TR></TABLE>I'll agree w/ this. I had mine SC'd on a stock C5 w/ 10lbs. If you boost what you have now you might chance destroying all the $$ you've put into your current set up. The guy you might want to look for is "rmcdaniels". Do a search & type in, "JRSC". He's in there w/ tons of info. The threads like 280 pages long. You will find all of my post in there on my set up also & hope it can help you out for your boosted venture. Good luck!

i wouldn't do it.. compression too high and you odn't need all them toda goodies to accomplish sub 300whp. in fact you can do it with everything stock minus pitsons/rods/arp headstuds

I should have asked if your just trying to make more power or are you auto-xx-ing the car & want better times or what?
thanks guys... looking for more power but mainly more torque and midrange... might have to consider a different path due to heat soak. 'Yes the car is a AUDM or EUDM model. car is for track only, we dont have auto x here.
furthermore, should I maintain the na path, what further upgrades might be effective???
Talking to a closely trusted tuner, we came up with quads and a bigger header... any other thoughts???
