intake, header, exhaust, hondata reflsh longevity?

Default intake, header, exhaust, hondata reflsh longevity?

what will these mods do concerning the life of the car.. i plan to buy one brand new and i wanna get these mods but i dunno how it will adversely effect the life of the engine. so my question is how long can i expect a new si to last with these mods on it? thanks

I don't know how someone would answer that no 1 has has that combo for over 20,000 miles or more to know that on the new SI's but reving it to 8,600rpm prob decreases the life of the motor by very little since it can handle it.

Like W_W said, no one has run that set up for an extended amount of time. You might want to lurk in the RSX section and see if there are similar set ups (which there are) and see if there is info since the car has been out longer.

those are such basic mods that it's not going to put any hurt on your motor. It depends on how you drive the car. If you beat the snot out of it, of course it won't last as long as if you baby it. I'd say if you take care of your car and drive it normally for the most part and have your spirited days, you shouldnt have a single issue.

Exactly...those mods do nothing but let your motor breathe better. Its not like your forcing air in (turbo / supercharger) or using nitrous that plays around with the internals and eventually wears them down. As long as you maintain your vehicle properly with those mods you will have 0 problems due to them and your car will last for a long long time...since its a honda and all.
