z6 minime questions
Well since my car got broken into right in front of my house, I am no longer putting a bunch of money into my car, like how I sold the B20 block I was going to put into it. I happened to come across a free complete z6 SOHC VTEC head from a friend only thing missing is exhaust manifold(not a problem). My questions are 1) what sort of modifications do I need to make for oiling(is it like a LS/VTEC?) 2) I have a PM6 ECU, should I be able to just get a head gasket, head bolts, and convert to MPFI and at least for now run the engine on that ECU with no VTEC engagement until a later time when I can get an ECU and convert to OBD-1? 3) Last one, is the y8 intake manifold a direct bolt on in place of the z6 intake manifold?
I did but none of the threads really tell me anything I asked about. I know the part about the oil I used to have a website bookmarked a long time ago but don't anymore, you could just point me in the direction of the answer(a website) and I'll go look for myself.
you can still run it with that ecu and even have vtec....if u hook it up to a switch and turn it on and off on ur own...did it in my sol before i got a p28.
and yes the y8 manifold will swap right over....u jsut have to move the intake air temp sensor to the intake itself cause there is no where for it on the y8 manifold....and make sure u get one with the right iacv...i cant rememebr which but theres an oddball one....i think its the 96-98 autos....
