Default Project: Topaz-R ** Part: 2 **

Today was a huge success. We managed to get all the wheels painted gold and half the cars molding was painted gold too. We also spend $70 to get it running again, distributor, spark plugs, and more. Here they are:

Here is the side masked off -- well, duct'd off.

We took this from a group of sand-railers. Figured it would be a nice touch.

Duct-Tape VTEC with an "H" -- true rice at it's best.

The 2-foot tall Wooden wing is being drilled into place. More pics on Part: 3.

Part of our awesome audio system: Our duct-taped in place 10" Ultimate woofers.

It's very safe to say we get more looks than any car in town already. We managed to have about 30 people outside checkin' out our ride at McDonalds. It was great.

Comments? Suggestions? Keep em' coming!

the fellas over at vwvortex are loving this.

heres a few suggestions they had... if u havent checked already

Porridgehead:
I'd suggest getting badges from the Ford version of this car and turning it into the dreaded "Tempo of Doom"

VR6Jim:
It needs a huge exhaust tip. I think DTM style, but like 4 of them, from coffee cans, so their like 10 inches. 2 on each side. Cut one on a 45 deg angle and solder them together for that dtm look. That would be sooo sweet.
The spoiler should be made from wood, but paint it to match the car with pep boys spray bombs. Couple cans of primer, then sand it lightly and paint, make it look like fiberglass. Would be wickid.

Cut the spring too so it's like 3 inches lowered. Take the hub caps and cut them out so they look like rims, and make some of those fake cross drilled rotors out of aluminum and put them behind the hub caps but on the outside of the steel wheels, that woudl be pimp. You could paint on a caliper too hahaha. . Make a huge chin spoiler for it too.

Also for stickers which every car needs. get the acctual stickers for the parts cut and put them on the car. BUt like every crappy part you can find. Like Ractive, RoadBoy, Tenzo-R etc.. ahahahhah..

JettaPat:
Thank you! This would have been a prime canidate for an SHO motor swap, I mean, look at it- rust free, fairly straight. $200 car, and you can pick up an SHO motor and T-5 for about $700-800 bucks around here. Even if you have a shop half *** it in there (using 3.0 Vulcan mounting bits) I don't think it would've topped $2K. Now THAT would have been something. Not this lamefest.

keep it up,

Dude, you have to hang a visor from the rear view mirror to complete it.

For the exhaust, I think we decided on an angled coffee can.

I like the visor idea -- i don't know if anyone I know owns a visor though, haha.

Still looking for donations. I don't care how stupid it is, if its a good idea, we'll use it. We plan on submitting it to some magazines when we're done. Hopefully we can get some responses.

Keep the suggestions coming, we've already used some!

make a carbon fiber hood by painting your hood black. Goto a junkyard and see if you can find some stock sideskirts and duct tape it to your car. Put one of those cartoon decals pissing on fords!

ya need to take it to the track and make a 20 second pass. Now that will be the funniest thing I would ever see at the track. Keep up the good work.

Damnit! You ruined our suprise. The single golden wiper of death was gonna be on Part 3.

As for the fog lights and neon, this is a LOW budget project. We're happy to accept donations

BTW>> The wing is $500 shipped -- better than any wing on the market.

When I bought my '92 cx, it had a 6'' blue neon light in the front bumper grill and a blue Honda emblem on the hood.
I'll donate them.
Give me your address and I'll send them to ya.
