how to wire vtec for a crx with a d16z6 head
On the connector there is 2 wires, i bought a window switch to turn it on but i dont know if its a positive or negative trigger. Any help would be great!
Lol.... you can't have a switch to turn vtec on...
That aside, is your car OBD-0 or OBD-1?
OBD-0 you're going to have to run a 1 wire vtec program on your chipped ecu.
OBD-1 you plug it in.

not 100% true. You CAN have a switch that switches to the high side cam. But the car will run lean and it'll basically make noise instead of being any faster.

the car is a stock 90 crx si. I am following these instructions and this guy never seemed to have a problem using the switch. http://crx.honda-perf.org/arti....html
using a 92-95 fpr should solve that problem though right? Also I take it I dont hook up the oil pressure sender? If I need to then where do I hook it up?

Um you can use a switch the activate VTEC. When I first put together my old LSVTEC I used a switch guy. 2 big wires and a golden switch next to the Shift ****. Turning it of thne on between shifts, very Ghet-Fab.

No because it's still running fuel maps for a D16A6 aka not adding any fuel for the bigger cam.
With a RPM switch you would have no need to hook up the oil pressure sender.
Just a word of advice though, go obd1. I ran obd0 on a a6/y8 setup for a full year and the difference is night and day.

Isnt it a pain to rewire. Dont the ecu's have different plugs? If its easy I will proably do it but for now im gonna just drive it like this. Any advice since you've personaly done the swap would be great. thanks
rywire adapter harness = easy wiring. You can change the plugs and run wires but i just didn't want to deal with any issues. With that harness i had to run like 10 wires, wasn't hard at all.
