leaks?
I have a 1996 Accord EX V6. I thought my power steering pump was leaking so I purchased a new one. When I took apart the power steering pump I took a look at the old one and it looks like the front seal is good. So I'm not sure where the leak is coming from. I'd hate to install the pump and blow $150.00 on something thats not needed.
I uploaded some pics...hopefully it helps.
Here is the top of the pump

The front of the pump - The front seal still looks good.

Here is the area right underneath the alternator

It looks like its dripping all the way down to the crank and on to the floor.

A shot from the top.

I took off the passenger side wheel and noticed that it had tons of grease on the inside. I'm assuming my CV boot/joint is toast? Is it possible that the oil leak is coming from the axle seals going bad?

The fluid was clear and not brown and dirty like regular engine oil so I assumed it was power steering fluid. What do you guys think?

I noticed one thing right there. The steering rack boot is torn open. However, that's not supposed to be filled with fluid, so maybe some internal seal in the rack is shot.
