95 accord lx.

I need to know how to lock the steering wheel when parked. I tried moving it side to side, but it wont lock. I did it today as I was just resting my elbows on it... it locked. But I dont know how to do it again.

 

when you turn off your car and then take your keys out of the ignition. turn the steering wheel either to the left or right and it should lock in place.

 

Should only have to park the car, turn the car off, key out, and turn the wheel and it should lock..

 

yes, i tried that... but it still moves left and right. does the wheels have to be straight? do i have to do it harder?

 

jerk it back and fourth really fast, and i think it locks when you turn it down, as in left had going down.

 

wait...so you can turn your steering wheel all the way as far as it can go either left or right with out the key in the ignition????? thats impossible unless your steering lock is broken which i highly doubt that the situation. just turn the steering wheel until it locks, with out the key in the ignition.

 

actually my friends jetta wheel doesn't lock.
