i was looking at this 89 hatch for sale, and the guy said it needs a new Throttle Body Injector, something like that. i dont know that much about engines right now, so i turn to you guys.

is it worth buying the car and replacing it?

what does he want for it? fixing it is a pretty simple job

 

only 750, which is not to shabby.

 

is it in good shape , if so go for it~

 

its in pretty good shape, he says it starts everytime, clutch doesn't slip that he knows of : P.

there is a dent on the driver side fender. but not to bad it sounds like.

im gonna go look at it tomarrow.

oh ya and i generally know how to replace the injector but could someone explain or have a link to a site that can tell me how to install a new one?

i have never seen a write up on replacing a dpfi injector.. hope you find one though.. iv tried taking the injector off one though.. didnt turn out too good. and when the guy says the clutch doesnt slip.. he means its an old clutch and it hasnt started to slip yet.. so your probably going to have to replace it in the near future.

 

my question about it is: how does this person know its the injector or injectors and not something else? you may ask him or her to see what they say. you may be able to get the car cheaper based on an "im pretty sure it is, but i dont know." reply.

 

he says its the secondary injector, not the primary one, i talked to him on the phone a little while ago. also, i just sent him a emailing asking how he knew this as sanimalp told me to do

easier to just go to a junkyard and get the entire throttle body off another DX/LX - getting those injectors out can sometimes be impossible

lol told ya.. ya that makes more sense to just get the whole TB

 

or when you get the car jsut do a MPFI swap

 

Nothing to do with the injector but when you go look at the car turn it on and off a couple of times. TO make sure it turns on, on the first crank.
