Gauge lights go out when highbeams turned on
1992 EG
I searched and only found one person who had the same problem and noone ended up replying, (and most of the other related topics are about people's high beams working but not their lowbeams)
The Problem
Whenever I turn the highbeams on my gauge lights go out, and when I turn the highbeams back off, the dash lights light up again.
Has anyone had the same problem and fixed it?

I am almost positive the problem is in the wiring either in or behind the turn-signal/headlight switch. That is the only place where the dash lighting signal wire and high beam signal wire are in the same place. I would start by digging through all the wiring around the steering column and below searching for broken/melted/rubbed wiring.
