Default 12sec. NA coupe question!!!!

Well guys my goal was (is) to break 12s. 12.9 I'll be hapy...
I got a Em1 With a built ls/vtec making around 210whp-142Tq. I'll see tomorrow when I get it tunned.. I'm planing on running BFG 215- 225/50/15 the car is pretty much gutted, at Moroso it weights 2465lbs... I don't know if is accurate.
So straight to the point what does it takes to brake 12s on a 2465lbs car???
Set-ups, Timeslips, car Info will help thanks

Some good really 60's might get you there.

My GF's EJ8 weighed 2352 bone stock with some crap in the trunk, mostly full tank, spare, etc.

Is that weight with you in it?

Good Luck

I weighed my Si at moroso also.

I had:
No back seats
No passenger seat
No spare
Nothing in the trunk at all

Car came in at 2450 w/o me.

I'd go with some slicks and skip the Drag Radials if you really want 12's.

these things are usually close to accurate. it says 2450 lbs + 210 hp = 13.21 at 103mph. check it out

http://www.dragsource.com/inde...iew=5

220 hp gets u a 13.008 so lose some weight you fat bastard! jk 135lbs = little guy. I=230 i need to drop the lbs.

well that's pretty light for all the stuff that you took out... I did the same thing Plus a full wire-tuck no Ac,Ps and all the crap on the engine bay... I still got some more stuff to take out like passenger seat, door panels, rear panels etc etc... But I'll do that when I comes to go to the track...
I just wanna know what does it takes to brake 12 on BFG

You'll be damned close to netting a 12 with BFGs if you've got a nice track and can get a good 60'. I don't wanna get your hopes up, but... go out and get the 12 that you most likely will.

p.s. If not... go get slicks. You will be.

200hp in a 2400 lb car netted my friend (on slicks) a 13.1

All motor '96-'00 coupes =

What does your powerband look like?

I ran 13.1 @ 104mph last March with 190whp in my coupe weighing in at 2560 lbs. with driver (I'm a heavyweight, breaking the scale at 230 lbs. )

I also had a terrible launch that day, so it had another tenth or two in her.

I'll be trying once more for 12's, lauching at 7000 RPM instyead of 5500 RPM come March 24th.

You've posted a couple times in my build thread, haven't you?

I ran 12.82@109.8 with my DC2 making 238 Hub-HP/dynapack (~217 dynojet) and weighing 2450lbs with driver. That was with a 2.0 60ft on BFGs...
