i want mpfi, but haven't the time, so...

i have a 91 dpfi std, can i change my tb gasket to the dx for an increase in hp?

need to mod/change ecu then?

I wouldn't bother even trying, just save for mpfi.

 

There is a 22hp diff b/w the std and dx, and I heard it is mainly the tb gasket diff.

What you mean a difference of the STD, LX DX motor dual point are the same. Do you mean the HF as the STD?

its the cam.

std has 70hp
dx has 92 hp

 

HF is 70hp

 

LOL A gasket is not worth 22 hp. It is not even worth .5 hp. Holy ****, some people.

 

I dug a`little more, and the diff b/w the b1 and b2 is as follows:

cams
timing
tb restrictor plate b/w tb and im on b1
ecu
upper butterfly on b1 doesn't open all the way.

i'm waiting for mpfi

 

yeaaaaah.. gasket wont do anything.. why would you think a gasket can give you 22 more hp?

 

someone wrote that the restrictor plate on the std limits airflow, accounting for the 22hp discrepancy.

 

that person is an idiot.
