whats the point of installing one of those does it give u more power or its just for the sound

i know when i had my srt-4 lots of those guys were doing it. you could hook it up to your stock exhaust, sound mostly stock, and then opened it when you wanted to go quick. of course i hear lots of theories about n/a cars needing the backpressure........

Hook it up to open when vtec engages. That way, you will have backpressure for low rpms and open exhaust for vtec/high rpms.
