I bought a 99 accord about 2 months ago from a private individual and just found out from my mechanic that I have oil seeping from the engine into the radiator as the engine reaches operating temp. I was told that Honda has some sort of quality pledge warranty or something on that line that they will repair engine or transmission once in the life of the car for free. Sounds too good to be true to me but sure would be nice. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? It has about 85,000 miles on it.

 

All I can say is: I wish.

 

Sorry man, never heard of such a pledge from Honda. Not sure what the law says about buying a car with a major problem like that. Did the individual disclose this before the sale?

Well it was worth a shot. Thanks for the input. I haven't given up yet, my mechanic is convinced it exists. The only thing I can find is a 80,000 mile warranty on the 99 model. It goes up to 100 in 2001. Of course it doesn't matter much I'm at about 86,000.

 

Hmmm... Never heard of it either. Tell your mechanic to show you proof.
