Default Suspension Noise

Just wondering if anyone would know why my front struts clicks whenever I make a stop and accelerate. It happens once per strut, like if I take off both will click once and then be fine until I slow down and then they will click once again until I accelerate again. My guess is the bearing cap but i just wanted to make sure. I have a 2000 Prelude with 147,xxx base model. Thanks for any help

probably your axle or CV joint clicking and not your strut.

Probably the bushings that sit on top of the spring. Mine wore out and they rest against the frame and it causes a click sound when u stop and go

I have a 97 SH and am experiencing the worst clunking noises coming from the front suspension. I'm assuming it's the isolators but cannot tell as every place I take it to says it's fine. Mechanically they are fine but expletive to they ever make the worst noises ever. Especially in the winter.

the best fix I found was ordering some koni yellow/GC suspension kit

Just done mine, it was the front sway bar endlinks that were making a clunk noise on accelerating or stopping, the bushes just wear out, I also add our roads are really rough, my 97 lude has 91k miles. I also had them go on my wife's CR-V so they must be a part that consistantly wears, anyway replaced those end bar links and the popping noise has gone.

Easy check is to jack each wheel up in turn, get a pal to tug quickly on the wheel top and bottom while you shine a flashlight on the sway bar links. You will hear the clunking and may also be able to see the play in them, if they need replacing.

Jack, your car off of the ground about an inch and stick a prybar underneath
the tire and pry it up, litsen and feel for loose play, if there is, you probably
need ball joints or upper control arms.

Then shake it from side to side, if there is play there it's either the tie rods
or wheel bearing/s.

Is there excessive clicking when your turning?
