I have an 88 crx si, with a b16. Last Friday the battery light came on, so I replaced the alternator (92 GSR), and the battery. Now when I get to about 3,000 rpm the light comes on, and all of the dash lights get brighter, the wipers go faster, and the headlights go out. The only thing I can think of, is maybe a ground is loose or something. I'm going to check the voltage from the alt., and battery when I get home from work. Has anyone else had this problem?

 

MAybe your eld is bad?
is it a autozone alternator? I know the voltage regulation is internal, ive had a one month old one **** out on me before.
Also check your ground, maybe one is off.

 

Is the alternator new or remanufactured? if its reman, it could possibly be a defective alternator and its overcharging.

 

yeah, it's a reman. I got it from Advance Auto Parts. I'm sure I'll know more about it when I hook a multimeter up to it.

 

BTW, what amperage does a b16 alternator put out?

 

At idle i remember seing 14ish volts on my multimeter
