Default Joining the EH2's...my "new" 92 CX

I have been looking for a hatch for quite some time now and it seems like every deal would slip right through my fingers...I was trying to pick up a hatch in relatively good condition to use as a DD/project since I am selling my 06 civic ex. I finally found a phantom gray CX for an amazing price that doesn't need much work, so here she is before I purchased her and I will take more pictures later as parts start coming in

Does anyone know about the fitment of parts from partstrain.com? I need a new front bumper and driver's side fender

Damn..I'm surprised it's so clean/complete for a car that old, I mean with A/C and all. I'd love to get my hands on a cheap stock one as a daily/beater so I could build my 99 EX to the max. Good luck with the build and keep us updated.

thanks for the replies guys

I've never seen them before either, so i'm looking for factory tails @ the moment

Now that was a really good deal! I got mine for $1700, which is great for the condition and the fact that everyone wants to get $5k out of a stock eg

I'm still trying to get an idea if parts from partstrain.com are any good? If they are I am definitely ordering a driver's side fender and a new front bumper which would already come primed. Also they carry replacement factory tails for pretty cheap but i'm not sure of the quality

Why would you want those things? They are one of the reasons why the cancer rust exists because it just collects water in there. First thing I did when I got my hatch I ripped mine off and threw them out.

I'm surprised theres no rust on that thing.

That is one of the first things i'm going to do also just to prevent rust from forming. We don't have too many hatches in GA that get that wonderful thing we call rust.

I've been looking at swaps all day and it seems that a swap would be quite simple to do into this hatch...

It will be my DD and will probably get boosted and maybe built in the future, so I am going to go with a B18B swap from hmotorsonline

I had a local shop quote me $3700 installed for a B18B from Hmotorsonline
Here was their breakdown of the pricing:
B18B OBD1 $2250 Only costs $2200 from Hmotors
Shipping $225
Avid Racing Engine Mount Kitr $250 Can get mounts from innovative for $149
Avid Racing Shift Linkage $90 Can use the factory shift linkage provided with the swap from hmotors
LAbor $750 (RR ENGINE , Wire VTEC, Knock etc) Obviously if I do it this doesn't apply, and what is with the wire VTEC? I believe the only wiring is switching to a 4-pin O2 sensor and knock I believe?
Axles $100 These come with the swap from HMO
Shop Supplies Fee $35 (oil change an Coolant Flush) Would spend this on my own supplies
Total :$3700 My total came out to be $2599...a $1101 difference and I will get to learn how to do a swap and spend the leftover money on upgrades

1700 for a stock CX with bad paint?
ouch.

That isnt TOO far off the price they are going for around here since their popularity has sky rocketed .

My car is also phantom grey and from the looks of yours, its shitty but i can tell you on mine its ahh so clean looking. I love the color! Good buy non the less

dude...you can do that swap for less than half the price if you actually look around and read on how to do the swap which really isnt that hard....if its gonna be a stock LS, you can do it your self for under a G if you can get a LS for cheap like at a junkyard..think about it....a grand to doyour own swap...from the quote the gave you (3700) you can boost it yourself and all...you can prob have it boosted with your total (2599)

Your lucky to have a nice 92 CX. The main wire harness (not engine harness) is already wired for VTEC solenoid and pressure switch...

pretty funny that the original owner added an intake. That motor is an 8-valve with a whopping 70hp and has basically no response to bolt-ons. It might run better with the stock rubber straw & filter box...

this thread got a little better response while it was still in the civic forum...see a few haters making their way out now

Paint needs to be buffed, I get it, but the reason it looks horrible is because it hasn't been washed/detailed in ages...that just so happens to be something i'm good at but i'm not sure if i'm going to detail it or just start prepping it for a respray

You don't see me bashing your paint in comparison to my car now do you? Quit talking trash and keep comments like that to yourself. I already own a car with a scratch/dent/swirlmark free paintjob so i'm not crying about this one

Dude, my first honda was a 92 CX, I had fender cancer so bad I had to ditch it as a lost cause.

Congrats on finding one without it. Everything else can be cleaned up/painted for a decent price but replacing the entire side of the car is insane lol.
