stage 3 clutch
fidanza 7.5lbs flywheel

ok so about a year and a half ago i went out and bought me a Ef sedan for 200$

(after i did the suspension)
then i went ahead and got my rims and tires.

now about 6 months ago i decided to build a Ls/Vtec for it cause i wanted a fast car. and i have probably the worst luck ever, i bought my block and my head from a guy on here i forgot his screen name but it was just a almost somplete gsr head and complete ls block with CTR pistons. So i did all my research and decided what i wanted to do with it so i started buy parts and **** and 2 months later i had everything i needed. I put my head on and started tourqeing everything down just to find out that 1 of the threads for my headstuds was stripped out. So i was pretty pissed but i went and bought another block.and i had everything ready.

i put the head on started tourqueing everything down and found out that this block also had a fukin stripped headstud thread, at this point i was ready to just give up, but i did a little more research and found out about helicoil kits. I went online and ordered a kit and waited fukin 3 weeks for it to come from some place that i could have drove to and it would have takin me 1 hour. As soon as it came in i called every auto anad machine shop within a 50mi radius of my area and every1 of them bastards told me they cant helicoil a block. So i said *** it and found a guy on HT that lived in Apple valley, CA and that same day i headed out there to get the block.
I got this on the way out there.

ok i got the block and headed home

before and....

after the hone, as soon as i got it home i started on it

took me like 20 mins to put the pistons in. Then at last i got the head on and i was really nervous when i tourqued down the head but everything turned out good for me this time.

and now im a happy man, so I might drop it in tomorow but im most likly going to wait and go over everything. ill post up more pics of my wire tuck and everything tomorow

There's never such thing as too much assembly lube.

Looks good though. Good luck.

Ok, the stripped head bolt threads sucked. And getting a ticket suxs even worse, but getting your motor together, thats cool.

The thing I like most about your build is it occured in your room on carpet no less.
That's super cool.

Should be fun to drive. Are you going to enable the IAB or just leave it open all of the time?

Cool man, I can feel your pain on the stripped stud part. I had that happen to me. It can be fixed, but it's called a "timesert" or something like that, the kit cost 500 bucks according to the shop and I can buy LS blocks all day for 100 so that went out the window.

Good luck with the rest of it.

Timesert kits are much, much less than $500. I paid $45 for a kit for mains.

Please don't tell me things like this now. It's one of three things that have left a sour taste in my mouth during this build

Is that what is required to re-thread a stud hole?

I know it's a bit off topic but considering the circumstances, I am sure the OP would like to know as well.

I needed a kit in a hurry so I was able to pick it up. I don't know if you can still do that, but you can definitely order them.
